MEST 08 is still go on...
Last week, like i've told before, we are going to the Barrang Lompo Island for our Field Trip, we got snorkling and lecture bout scientific diving..talk bout scientific diving..its completely new for me..i mean diving is familiar but Scientific diving???sounds great hah..well its a very2 great lecture exactly..so scientific diving is the one of the most important thing that we have to know if we want to make a marine research..in our country there are so many great diver, but unfortunately we have no scientific diver..well ok..we have so many diver that doing the marine research but there are no a standard system how to make a marine research..thats why scientific diving is need, to give us a knowledge how to make a good research especially in marine area, in order to get a good result in data or anything else that we want to find out...but unfortunately (again)..in indonesia there are no scientific diving training or course, at least for this moment, but my lecturer said that he have a plan to make a special course bout scientific diving in indonesia so in the future we can have great scientific divers..ok!!n hopely i'm the one of it..
back to Makassar...
during this second week...the lecture is vary from the most interesting lecture till the most bored lecture..i dont want to say what the last one he..he..well, one of the most interesting lecture is Dominik's lecture bout crustacea (you know udang n the gank), and i just know that crustacea an insecta are related animal...according to the evolution research and following by molecular research, they found that crustacea and insecta comes from same genera( a result from long time research)..is it means that shrimps (udang) and spiders (laba-laba) are brother???he..he..he..thats why i say that this is an interesting lecture...!!!
But over all..i really enjoy this program, i get more knowledge that i've never known before and its must be usefull for my future life...
The MEST will still go on for about three weeks..after Idul Fitri...

MEST 08
Busy..busy..busy..what a busy month..
In this fasting month i've join with a special training called MEST (The Tropical Marine Ecology Special Training), it's an International program held together between CCRR (Center For Coral Reef Research) of Hasanuddin University and SPICE Program (Study for Protection Of Indonesia Coral Ecosystem), a program which following by several institution and university in Germany..they make a research bout Indonesia coral ecosystem, the ecology especially in Spermonde Archipelago of South Sulawesi. so as a feed back for us (CCRR), they have to share what they know, what they've been found, what they,ve been learn in their country or in Indonesia, everything bout their particular field to us by this MEST Program..
As an International Program, of course we use international language..English, and this is one of the major aim of this program, to improve the participants English Skill..all material give it to us by English, discussion by english, talk to each other also by english, the point is there is no Indonesian Speaking during this MEST program, while we were in the MEST area...so this program not only give us a knowledge bout the tropical marine ecology, but also helping us to improve our english skill and improve our self confidence..at the first maybe it's hard but if there is a will there is a way isn't??for me..this is a great program, i'm so excited that i can join in this program, i can get more knowledge bout tropical marine ecology which im interesting in it, beside that i can improve my english..what a great program...
The MEST held during this fasting month for about three week, we receive the material from 10 o'clock at the morning, break at 12 o'clock-02 o'clock and then continued again from 2 o'clock till 04 o'clock in the afternoon, this program really-really makes me so busy, all day i spent in CCRR Building, little bit hard for me cuz i have fasting, but with all the knowledge, the experience that i can get, i think it's worth it if i spent my time in this program. beside the class material, we also have a field trip to the island, in this part to the Barrang Lompo Island, one of the most famoust n biggest island in Spermonde Archipelago, according to the schedule and material, there are practice to diving..he..he..this is what i'm waiting for..Diving..but there is a doubt in my heart about this, we will dive while we have fasting, it's must be hard to do, but i hope i can enjoy this trip...and it's tomorrow he..he..Barrang Lompo..here i come..again..!!!
Well..i hope i can get much from this program, especially bout my english skill, but more than that i hope i can learn much bout The Tropical Marine Ecology...!!!

Me n My Japanese Friends...!!!
Assalamualaikum wr wb...
Hmmm...posting kali ini di tulis sambil nunggu buka puasa...

Bbrp waktu yg lalu (4-7 sept 08) aku dpt job bwt guide-in bbrp mahasiswa jepang yg lagi KKN International, konsep program mrk sbnrnya tuh cultural exchange, sosiological life, international relationship,intinya tuh mrk mau tau budaya indonesia, kehidupn masyarakat indonesia n the most important thing is mrk interesting to know more bout Islam...
Kegiatannya di laksanakan di BALI (Barrang Lompo Island), di sana mrk homestay pd bbrp rumah penduduk, kebetulan aku sbg guide mrk juga ikutan homestay ma mereka, aku harus "mengasuh" dua cewek Jepang, just call them Arisa n Nami, selama homestay aku bnyk sharing dgn mereka, aku ajak mrk keliling pulau buat meliat-liat kehidupan org2 pulau, keseharian mereka, pekerjaan mereka, and as a good guide (cieee...) aku berusaha ngasih penjelasan ttg segala sesuatu yg mrk temui di pulau itu, at the beginning, komunikasi agak susah krn mrk blm tlalu fasih b'bhs indonesia n english, tp alhamdulilah pd akhirnya kmi bisa bkomunikasi dgn baik meskipun dgn bhs yg gado2 (indonesia and English)....
salah satu alasan mereka ikut program ini krn mrk tertarik dgn islam, nah karena lagi bulan puasa aku minta mereka untuk ikut puasa biar mereka bisa sekalian merasakana bgm puasa itu, dan alhamdulilah mereka mau puasa dan mereka kuat nahan puasa sampai waktu berbuka tiba, meskipun lemes2 gitu, while fasting time mereka nanya2 sbnrnya tujuan dari puasa itu apa??yah aku jawab sj sesuai dgn yg aku tau, puasa mengajarkan kita untuk merasakan bagaimana penderitaan orang lain, orang2 yg makan aja susah, kelaparan, less money and etc, intinya puasa mengajak kita untuk lebih care pada org2 di sekitar mereka, n mereka kagum dgn apa yg terkandung dalam puasa, sampai-sampai ada bbrp org dari mereka yg ikut ke mesjid n mau belajar sholat he..he..he..coba mereka tinggal sebulan, jadi muallaf kali mereka he..he..
aku sendiri punya geng (nge-geng neh critanya ma anak jepang),namanya GIFO team..why GIFO team cuz kita smua pada Gila Foto he..he..kita ada 6 org, 2 anak indonesia( aku n adek tingkat aku di biologi) n 4 anak jepang yg kita "asuh" he..he..kemana-mana kita berenam, ke dermaga, ke warung, bikin kue, walk around the island, pokokna sama2 terus deh...just try to give them best experience n best image bout indonesian people, especially moslem one, beside that, this is a great time to share with them, about their culture, their social life, everything...and i hope i do it best...they give me another view how to appreciate our own culture n own country...shortly, mereka aja bisa suka dgn budaya kita, kenapa banyak dari kita yg justru melupakan budaya kita sendiri???answer it by your self....
Nah...satu yg paling mbuatku excited dlm kegiatan ini tuh adalh cultural exchangenya,jadi mereka tuh menampilkan kebudayaan mereka, pakaian, permainan tradisional, olahraga, dan nyanyian..sebenarnya mrk mau masak masakan jepang, tp karena puasa jadinya gak jadi deh..ckp di byr dgn makan malam di resto jepang he..he..(susah pake sumpitnya he..he.)..the most exciting thing for me is about their traditional wear..Kimono or Yukata, at the time they just bring Yukata cuz Kimono is too heavy to bring n too expensive he..he..so they just bring Yukata, Yukata is as same as like Kimono, but more simple n Nihonjin (org Jepang) wear Yukata only at Summer time, cuz they can't use Kimono at the summer..you know..it's too hot,nah pas cultural exchangenya itu bbrp anak Jepang di pakein baju tradisional org Bugis makassar,namanya Baju Bodo, namanya exchange berarti yg pake Yukatanya org Indonesia donk...and betapa senangnya ketika mereka memintaku untuk memakai Yukata mereka, wah dream comes true neh..dah lama aku suka dgn kimono n pgn bgt bisa pake kimono, meskipun wkt itu bkn kimono tp kan modelnya sama aja..it's more than enough for me...akhirnya jadilah aku pake Yukata..jadi keliatan unik cuz cewek berjilbab pake Yukata, tapi mereka seneng liatnya..mereka bahkan bilang...Kawai (cantik he..he..he..)...meskipun panasnya bukan main tapi senengnya juga bkn main he..he..he..n yg lebih membuatku excited lagi neh..hbs cultural exchangenya mereka bilang Yukatanya buat aku...hwaaaaa...senengnya bukan main..sampe speechless deh jadinya..akhirnya bisa punya baju tradisional jepang juga..Thanks bgt deh buat Nami yg udah ngasih Yukatanya buat aku...
Well..over all, it's a great experience for me, eventhough this is not my first time having a trip like this, but i can say that this is the great one for me..why??cuz aku dpt Yukata he..he..but more than that i'm happy cuz i can share much with them, especially i can tell them bout islam, i hope i've give a best experience for them while they were here, i hope they can have a good image bout indonesia and bout Islam..Amiin..!!!
So..hope will seen them again, apakah mereka yg balik ke indonesia (krn kangen sama aku he..he..he..)ato kah aku yg ke Jepang he..he.Aminnnn...!!!

Hi.....It's Me..!!!
Assalamualaikum...
Yuhuuu...kenalin, new comer dlm dunia per-blog-ian indonesia he..he..he.., smua org yg mengenalku biasa memangilku Kurni (di tambahin kata"maniezt" jg gak papa kok :p), bbrp memanggil Nia (biasanya yg panggil dg sebutan ini tuh org2 terdekat like my family), Unni, Uni tp blm pernh ada yg manggil dgn sebutan Celine Dion ato inem he..he..he..
Hmmm..cuz this is the 1st time so postingan kali ini aku akn kenalin blog ku dulu n cwek maniezt (narsis dikit gpp kan bow) yg punya ni Blog...namanya tadi udah kan..meskipun kepotong, tp siapa tau aja ada yg pgn tau nama lengkap aku nama lengkap aku(penting gak sehh..) boleh juga kok, Kurniati Umrah Nur, Thats my complit name, aku di kasi nama Kurnia cuz kata ortu_ku aku adalh karunia terbesar bwt mrk, secara bth 10 thn baru bisa nongol di dunia he..he.., truz Umrah itu cuz aku lahirnya pas kakekku lg Umroh (knp gak di kasi nama Madinah aja ya, ky judul sinetron gt he..he..), Nur itu bisa b'arti cahaya tp itu juga nama pace_ku, itulah knp gak ada yg manggil aku Nur, cuz itu sama aja manggil pace_ku (pace dlm bhs gaulx anak2 makassar tuh artinya ayah, selanjutnya aku akan pake istilah ini utk menyebut blio), dan yup..aku org makassar tulen 100% asli, skrg baru aja "terusir"(setelah 5 thn lebih menekuni Biologi) dari kampusku tercinta Universitas Hasanuddin, The Red Campus, itulah knp aku sgt mcintai kampus ini krn kampus ini tuh "Aku Banget"...
Well...about this blog name, Abalone...knp aku kasi nama Abalone? simple aja..aku t'obsesi dgn yg namanya Abalone..krn berkat Abalone inilah aku berhasil lulus dari Jurusan Biologi F.MIPA UNHAS(cieee..segitunya he..he.), ada yg tau ttg abalone??klo gak ada yg tau aku kasi tau yah, yah itung2 nambah wawasan kalian..iya gak??Abalone itu sejenis Moluska laut (klo gak tau moluska yah kita bsa pake istilah kerang, klo yg ini pasti smua org tau kan??), bercangkang tunggal (entar aku posting pic si abalone deh), dgn cangkang yg cantik bgt, dan yg paling penting tuh ni mahluk satu enak bgt untuk di makan (hmmm yummy..alhamdulilah udah pernah makan ne abalone he..he..he..), but lumayan mahal seh harganya, klo ada yg mau makan coba aja kalian ke restoran2 jepang ato china, pasti kalian bisa dpt cuz abalone ini mang lazim di konsumsi ma org2 bermata sipit itu he..he..he..tapi sediain kocek lebih bwt makannya ya he..he..he..
Nah..balik lagi knp aku kasih nama blog ku ini Abalone, yah itu tadi aku t'obsesi ma moluska satu ini, krn berkat abalone inilah aku bisa sarjana, meskipun ni mahluk nyusahin bgt tapi krn nyusahinnya itulah aku punya petualangan yg seruuuuu bgt...(klo aku ceritain di sini bakal bth berjam-jam bwt nulisnya, capek..lg puasa neh-->lagian siapa yg minta di ceritain yah??), but intinya selain pada Allah, keluarga n org terdekat, aku berterima kasih pd mahluk satu ini deh..makasih ya abalone he..he..he..n aku punya harapan suatu saat bisa ngembangin abalone di Indonesia, biar kita bisa eksport abalone ke luar ok..doain yah...Amiin..
Btw anyway busway neh...tangan dah pegel neh, mau bobo ciang dulu biar bisa fit buat makanan berbuka puasa (he..he..he..lagi belajar jadi ibu rumah tangga neh), oya blog ini di buat sbg t4 aku berbagi cerita, pengalaman, ilmu (klo aku punya ya) n everything that can be happen in my life, siapa tau aja bisa bmanfaat bagi org lain iya kan??krn kesuksesan sejati adalah ketika kita bisa bermanfaat bagi org lain dan bisa membahagiakan org lain (bijaknya lagi kambuh neh),ok!!!
